Food waste is becoming a logistical problem for Hong Kong, with 835,000 tonnes of domestic food waste being disposed every year and all three landfills nearing saturation. At the same time, over 1.6 million people in Hong Kong live in poverty - trying to make ends meet and facing the risk of food insecurity.
Foodlink Foundation was founded in 2001 to provide nutritious and healthy meals to vulnerable people in Hong Kong, while simultaneously reducing food wastage in hotels and food and beverage outlets.
The Hot Food Program is one of Foodlink’s main programs: It consists of collecting food that has been prepared and cooked by selected donor companies and is delivered directly to beneficiary partners, where it's stored, reheated and served on-site at no cost to those in need.
Goodman supports Foodlink via donated excess food from The Rambler Café at Goodman Interlink – providing meals to vulnerable people in our community, while also reducing food waste.
