Meeting food needs in the United States

Our food relief work in the United States has ramped up to meet growing demand.

Feeding America and Second Harvest provide food to more than 500 pantries and food distribution centres in Southern California, as well as to the elderly, those living with a disability, and people with no car access. 

The Goodman Foundation’s donation is fuelling Feeding America’s trucks so they can keep delivering to 83,000 households a month, in a part of the state with more than 800,000 residents living below the poverty line. 

Our donation to Second Harvest funded an electric van to transport volunteers safely to the warehouse. Meanwhile, our donation to Meals on Wheels will fund a charging station for its electric delivery refrigerator trucks so it can keep bringing nutritious meals to over 12,000 isolated seniors, providing daily human contact and helping to prevent their premature institutionalisation.
